Franklin Smith is seeking multiple experienced sheet metal workers in New Zealand (Nelson region) with a strong safety mindset and solid references. You will mark out, shape, form, join sheetmetal and related materials while reading blueprints and maintaining quality.

Successful candidates will have at least 3 years of full-time sheetmetal experience on commercial or civil projects, pass a police check and drug test, and be ready for regional travel.

We are looking for multiple experienced Sheet metal workers who have a good attitude towards work and great references. You are required to Mark out, shape, form and join sheetmetal and other materials.

About you:

Successful candidates must be a NZ citizen or resident and have at least 3 years full-time sheetmetal relevant work experience on commercial or civil projects.

Duties include:

• create construction or installation diagrams
• review blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements
• measure materials or objects for installation or assembly
• mark reference points on construction materials
• assemble products or production equipment
• weld metal components
• plan layout of construction, installation, or repairs
• smooth surfaces with abrasive materials or tools
• fabricate parts or components
• select construction materials
• Ensure all activities are conducted safely and in compliance with Franklin Smith policies and relevant legislation.
• Other duties as reasonably required within the capability of the employee’s role may also be required from time to time.

The ideal candidate will also have:

• Been able to pass police check and drug test.

About the role:

- Minimum 30 hours per week.

- Hourly wage ranging from $28.00 - $35.00.

- Permanent role - Monday to Friday, with extra shifts available on weekends.

- As part of your employment, you may be required to travel to a different region for a different project, including, Auckland, Manawatū-Whanganui, Marlborough, Waikato, Wellington, Otago, Nelson, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Northland, West Coast, Bay of Plenty, Canterbury, Gisborne, Southland.

- You will be given reasonable notice if you are required to relocate to another region. Franklin Smith will cover transportation and accommodation expenses related to the relocation.
