Franklin Vets in Pukekohe invites an entry‑level Credit and Receivables Assistant to join our Support Office finance team. You’ll support day‑to‑day receivables, assist with invoicing and VIP Care, and help with credit control while learning practical accounting in a busy practice network across South Auckland and beyond.

Ideal candidates have a grounding in accounting, strong attention to detail, and communication skills to engage with customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Receipting and allocating customer payments.

• Communicating with external clients from farmers to pet owners.

Franklin Vets is a well established veterinary practice supporting communities across South Auckland, North Waikato, Coromandel and the Hauraki Plains.

We’re looking for a Credit and Receivables Assistant to join our Support Office team in Pukekohe.

This is a great opportunity for someone at the beginning of their accounting career who wants to build practical experience in a busy environment. You might be a recent accounting or finance graduate, currently working towards an accounting qualification, or already have some solid accounts experience and be ready for your next step.

You’ll need a good understanding of accounting principles, strong attention to detail and the confidence to communicate with a wide range of people.

What you’ll be doing

Working as part of our finance team, you’ll support the day to day management of our accounts receivable function, including:

• Receipting and allocating customer payments accurately
• Assisting with invoicing, including our VIP Care programme
• Supporting credit control activities and following up outstanding accounts
• Responding to account and payment queries
• Working with our clinic teams to investigate and resolve account issues
• Communicating with our external clients, from farmers and rural businesses through to companion animal clients
• Completing general finance administration and data entry
• Maintaining accurate customer and account information
• Providing support across the wider finance team as required

What we’re looking for

You don’t need years of accounts receivable or credit control experience, but you do need a strong foundation in accounting and an interest in developing your career in this area.

You could be a great fit if you:

• Have an accounting or finance qualification, are currently working towards one or have relevant practical accounting experience
• Understand core accounting principles and are comfortable working with numbers
• Have excellent accuracy and attention to detail
• Are confident working with systems and working with financial data
• Can communicate professionally and positively, including when following up overdue accounts
• Can build good working relationships with both internal and external customers
• Are organised, proactive, reliable and able to manage competing priorities
