Job summary

QT Queenstown, part of EVT, is seeking a bartender to bring craft, personality and energy to a premium hotel setting with 225 lake-view rooms and multiple venues.

This is a part-time role with a minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week. You should have solid cocktail knowledge, hotel/bar experience, and a guest-focused attitude. Evening, weekend and public holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a bartender in a hotel, bar or premium hospitality venue.
• Solid cocktail knowledge and the technique to back it up, with a genuine eye for quality and presentation.
• A personality that makes guests feel like they picked exactly the right place to spend their evening.
• Impeccable personal presentation and a cool head when the bar is three deep.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver warm, attentive bar service to guests, reading the room and staying one step ahead of what they need before they even ask.
• Prepare and serve a full range of beverages to the QT standard, ensuring every drink that leaves the bar is consistent, well-presented and worth coming back for.
• Know the menu inside out, from cocktails and spirits to food pairings and specials, and share that knowledge with guests in a way that feels natural.
• Keep your section stocked, clean and guest-ready throughout service, completing all opening and closing duties as assigned.
• Handle payments accurately, follow all cashiering and RSA policies and ensure all bar equipment is well maintained.
• Participate in training sessions, attend scheduled meetings and support other outlets when the team needs a hand.
