Job summary

New Zealand Government, Department of Corrections in Mt Eden, Auckland, is seeking Corrections Officers. Qualifications

• To be eligible you need the legal right to work in New Zealand or a Work Visa with at least 24 months remaining.
• A full New Zealand Driver Licence (or be eligible to obtain one).
• Declare any conflicts of interest and previous convictions.
• Medically fit for employment and complete a Medical Assessment and Physical Readiness Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise people in Prison and manage daily routines within the unit(s).
• Escort individuals around the site to education programmes or appointments.
• Monitor, assess and manage behaviour and safety; help reduce conflicts within units.
• Engage with people in a positive way and uphold integrity in all interactions.
