Job summary

Totara Farm Trust seeks a Coordinator to lead the Kingseat team, combining hands-on leadership with purposeful work supporting adults with intellectual disabilities to live self-determined lives.

You will lead a dedicated team of Personal Assistants, model respectful and responsive support, oversee daily operations, and build strong relationships with whānau and stakeholders. Flexibility and empathy are essential in this varied leadership role.

Qualifications

  • Experience and passion supporting adults with intellectual disabilities.
  • Experience leading and developing teams.
  • Holds a New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 or an equivalent qualification.
  • Confident learning and using a range of software systems.
  • Communicates confidently with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Is an accomplished, creative problem solver.
  • Knows how to delegate effectively and empower others.
  • Is exceptionally organised and able to juggle competing priorities.
  • Is flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Willing to roll up their sleeves and support the team wherever needed.
  • Leads with respect, empathy and a solutions-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Role modelling a respectful, responsive and creative approach to support and communication.
  • Overseeing quality service delivery and the day-to-day operations of the Kingseat property.
  • Building strong relationships with your team, whānau, the people we support and other stakeholders.
  • Supporting staff wellbeing, development and performance.
  • Managing team rosters.
  • Providing leadership around medical support needs.
  • Leading engaging and productive team meetings.
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Supporting the team through the unexpected and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Leading an awesome team and working alongside amazing people.

Following the promotion of our current Kingseat Coordinator into a newly created leadership role within the Trust, we are now looking for an exceptional person to lead our Kingseat team.

Nestled in the peaceful rural community of Kingseat, this role offers the opportunity to combine hands-on leadership with meaningful work, supporting adults with intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling, self-determined lives. We're looking for someone who:

What you'll be doing:

As Coordinator, you'll be responsible for leading a dedicated team of Personal Assistants and empower them to ensure the people we support receive outstanding, person-centred support.

Your responsibilities will include:
