Job summary

Lolos Authentic Turkish Kitchen in the Bay of Plenty region seeks two experienced cooks to join our busy Mediterranean restaurants in Tauriko and Mount Maunganui. One cook will be based in Tauriko and the other in Omokoroa.

You will work five days per week, minimum 32 hours, on a rotating roster with weekend, early morning, and evening shifts including public holidays. An eye for detail and speed in a fast-paced kitchen is essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years cooking experience.
• Knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine is a plus.
• Food Hygiene training is preferred.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Understanding of food allergens.
• Knowledge of sanitation management.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve quality food to customers.
• Assist the head chef in meal planning.
• Follow head chef instructions and prepare meals accordingly.
• Plate food presentably.
• Ensure dietary requirements are met.
• Order supplies and oversee stock management.
• Comply with New Zealand Food Safety Standards.
• Maintain a clean and tidy workspace.

Job description

Lolos Authentic Turkish Kitchen offers authentic Turkish and Mediterranean dining in the Bay of Plenty Region. Our restaurants are located in and around Tauranga (Mount Maunganui, Tauriko and Omokoroa).

We are looking for 2 experienced cooks to join our busy Mediterranean restaurants in Tauriko and Mount Maunganui. One cook will be primarily based in our Tauriko restaurant and the other will work in our restaurant in Omokoroa.

You will be expected to work 5 days per week and will be on a rotating roaster.

You will need to work a minimum of 32 hours per week. From time to time, you may be asked to do overtime.

Availability to work on weekends, early morning, evenings and public holidays.

You will be offered an hourly rate that ranges from NZ$27 to NZ$29.

The Position

This role will suit an experienced cook with knowledge of mediterranean cuisine, an eye for detail and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

• -Prepare, cook, and serve quality food to customers
• -Assist the head chef in meal planning
• -Follow instructions from the head chef and make meals as per their requirements
• -Place food on plates in a presentable manner
• -Ensure customer's dietary requirements are met
• -Order supplies and oversee stock management
• -Comply with New Zealand Food Safety Standards

Skills and Experience

• -A minimum of 2 years of work experience as a cook.
• -Knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine is a plus point
• -Food Hygiene training is preferred.
• -Understanding of food allergens.
• -Knowledge of food hygiene and food storage
• -Knowledge of sanitation management
• -Understanding of health and safety procedures
