Job summary

Jora New Zealand in Auckland is seeking a Cook to strengthen our kitchen team. You will set up workstations, check ingredient quality, and cook a variety of dishes with attention to detail and speed.

This is a permanent, full-time role (minimum 30 hours per week) with an hourly rate of NZD 24, depending on experience. Please include your visa status in your cover letter if you are not a New Zealand resident.

Qualifications

• Have at least 2 years relevant work experience in the same field or industry.
• Have a relevant level 4 qualification or above (equivalent overseas qualification can be accepted)

Responsibilities

• Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Checking ingredients to make sure the quality and freshness
• Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in various utensils and grillers
• Seasoning, portioning, adding sauces to the dish during/after cooking
• Preparing food to meet client’s taste and dietary needs
• Storing and reserving food to the right temperature and facilities
• Cleaning and restocking workstations and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift.
• Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of machines before each run, to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Assisting in planning menus, estimating food and labour costs
• Assisting with training and supervising kitchen staff whenever required

We are a popular restaurant based in Auckland.

To enhance our team, we are now looking for a Cook to join our team. We are expecting someone who has a passion for food, attention to details, ability to multi tasks and be a proactive member of the team.

Ideal candidates should:

• Have at least 2 years relevant work experience in the same field or industry, OR
• Have a relevant level 4 qualification or above (equivalent overseas qualification can be accepted)

The hourly pay rate is between $24.00-$24.00 depending on your personal experience and skills. The position is permanent and full-time (guaranteed minimum 30 hours/per week, roster from Monday to Sunday). The location of work will be in Auckland.

You are required to:
