We are seeking three enthusiastic Cooks to join our busy kitchen team in Porirua and Paraparaumu, preparing authentic Asian-fusion cuisine. Our menu brings together fresh New Zealand produce and flavours from across East Asia, creating dishes with a vibrant harmony of sweetness, richness, saltiness, spice, and refreshing acidity.

This Cook role would suit someone who is interested in growing their career anddeveloping within our business. The role is guaranteed of a minimum of 30 hour perweek, with an hourly rate of $25 to $30 for the right candidate.

Key tasks of role include:

• Plan and develop menu items, including main dishes, specialty items, andcomplementary side dishes.
• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes using appropriate culinary techniques andestablished recipes.
• Develop and standardise recipes, sauces, marinades, and seasoning blends to ensure consistency in flavour and presentation.
• Supervise kitchen staff involved in food preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes.
• Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation to ensure they meet theestablishment’s standards for taste, texture, and presentation.
• Estimate food costs, monitor portion control, and order ingredients and kitchensupplies as required.
• Manage food inventory, stock rotation, and storage to maintain product quality andminimise waste.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations in the kitchen.
• Train and guide kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, cooking procedures, andsafe kitchen practices.
• Coordinate kitchen workflow to ensure meals are prepared efficiently and delivered ontime during service periods.
• Create and introduce new menu items and specials based on seasonal ingredientsand customer preferences.
• Oversee the maintenance and safe operation of kitchen equipment and ensure propercleaning and storage procedures.

Ideal candidates are expected to have the followings but not limited to:

• Have relevant work experience for a minimum of two years or more
• Flexible availability as the position requires night shift and weekends
• Positive attitude to work as a team player
