Job summary

G&C Diggers is seeking an experienced Contract Engineer to oversee our Three Waters contract in Wellington. You will manage all aspects of the contract, ensuring regulatory compliance and maintaining strong relationships with Clients and Stakeholders.

The role requires leadership, programme setup on sites, and a solid understanding of technical, contractual and financial contract elements, with proficiency in Word, Excel and MS Project.

Qualifications

• Experience in the Three Waters industry is preferable.
• Ability to lead and manage staff effectively.
• Experience setting up programmes and sites on diverse projects.
• Manage Health and Safety and QA on and off site.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship management skills.
• Understanding of technical, contractual and financial aspects of contracts.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Project.
• Adaptability and ability to juggle multiple tasks and issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review engineering designs, specifications and documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors and project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards and safety requirements.
• Monitor project progress and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations and recommendations.
