Job summary

Downer Group in Hastings is seeking a highly motivated Contract Engineer to join our surfacing team. You will oversee contract management, resource optimization and strive for outstanding project outcomes.

The role requires an engineering background, experience in contract delivery and financial oversight, and proficiency with MS Office and project management tools. Previous surfacing, sealing or pavement construction experience would be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in contract management, project delivery, and financial oversight.
• Engineering background with strong contract management skills.
• Surfacing, sealing or pavement construction experience is advantageous.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Project and AWM software.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with estimators, contract managers, supervisors, subcontractors and clients to meet quality, safety and compliance standards.
• Manage assigned contracts, ensuring compliance with obligations, timelines and financial targets.
• Oversee project execution, ensuring quality, safety and environmental standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and outcomes.
• Contribute to developing cost-effective and innovative engineering solutions for bids and variations.
• Lead by example in promoting a Zero Harm culture in all operations.
