Downer is looking for a Quality Engineer - Surfacing to drive quality outcomes across surfacing projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and contractual obligations while supporting safe, efficient project delivery.
You will oversee quality systems, ITPs and construction documentation, acting as a key link between field operations and contract requirements to minimize post-construction risk and strengthen client relationships.
In this role, you'll be responsible for driving quality assurance outcomes across surfacing operations, ensuring construction activities meet specification requirements, quality standards, and contractual obligations while supporting safe, efficient project delivery.

Working closely with operational teams, quality technicians, contract managers, and client representatives, you'll oversee quality systems, inspection and test plans (ITPs), construction documentation, and compliance processes across chipseal and asphalt projects.
You will be a key link between field operations and contract requirements, helping ensure works are delivered right the first time while minimising post-construction risk and maintaining strong client relationships.
You’ll bring practical surfacing experience along with a strong understanding of quality systems and construction compliance.
