The positions offer opportunities to teach, develop junior staff, and contribute to service design, including a new 225-bed clinical services block, in a supportive secondary care environment in Nelson.

Qualifications

• Reliable team player with strong communication in multidisciplinary settings.
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent is required.
• Eligible for Annual Practising Certificate and vocational scope in Internal Medicine/Rural Hospital Medicine.

Nelson Hospital is seeking two dedicated andexperienced General Medicine Physicians to join our dynamic and collegialmedical team. This is an excellent opportunity to practise, rewarding andchallenging general medicine in a supportive secondary care setting, whilecontributing to service development and the future of healthcare delivery inthe region.

As a key member of our General Medicine service,you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care across acute and inpatientsettings, working closely with a skilled multidisciplinary team to deliverexcellent outcomes for the Nelson population.

You will also:

• Participate inthe general medicine acute roster.
• Teach and developour growing junior medical workforce.
• Contribute to thedesign of services fit for the future, including contributing to thedesign of our newly approved 225-bed clinical services block

• Full subspecialtysupport from within Nelson or through aligned Tertiary partners.
• Bring strong general medical expertise and experience toan acute secondary care hospital and contribute to advanced care of acuteinpatients and outpatients across the region.
• Have one of the following subspecialty interests: Renal,Respiratory, Rheumatology, and Endocrinology, however, all areas will beconsidered.
• Hold Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College ofPhysicians or equivalent.
• Be eligible for an Annual Practising Certificate andvocational scope of Internal Medicine/Rural Hospital Medicine with the MedicalCouncil of New Zealand.
