Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking two General Medicine Physicians to join Nelson Hospital in a rewarding, collaborative environment. The roles are permanent, with 0.8–1.0FTE options for part- or full-time work, and include opportunities to practise general medicine in a supportive secondary care setting while contributing to service development.

You will provide high-quality, patient-centred care across acute and inpatient settings, working with a multidisciplinary team and teaching

Qualifications

• Strong general medical expertise for acute secondary care.
• Subspecialty interests: Renal, Respiratory, Rheumatology, Endocrinology.
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
• Eligible for Annual Practising Certificate and vocational scope in Internal Medicine/Rural Hospital Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centred care across acute and inpatient settings.
• Participate in the general medicine acute roster.
• Teach and develop our growing junior medical workforce.
• Contribute to service development and design for future healthcare delivery.
