Job summary

Alpha Recruitment is seeking experienced Construction Trade Workers in New Zealand for residential, commercial or industrial projects. Candidates need a minimum of 2 years’ construction experience and must be able to work independently or as part of a team.

Your hourly rate will vary from $27–$30 per hour, with a minimum of 30 hours per week and potential relocation to NZ regions such as Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Waikato, Wanganui, Bay of Plenty and Hawke’s Bay.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years + construction experience.
• Proven competence with construction materials and methods.
• Commitment to health and safety practices on building sites.
• Good dexterity and precision in performing tasks.
• Willingness to learn new techniques when required.
• Must be physically capable of heavy duties.
• Hold a NZ Driver’s license or international license.

Responsibilities

• Construct, finish, erect, install, renovate and repair structures and fixtures using wood, plywood, wallboard, glass, iron, steel, aluminum and other materials.
• Install facades, cladding, windows, doors, flashing and louvres.
• Apply waterproofing products and techniques.
• Use hand tools and power tools.
• Clean construction site and remove debris and hazards.
• Move equipment and materials as needed.
• Follow health and safety regulations.
• Measure, cut and build elements for various projects.
• Maintain existing structures and fittings.
• Stack and palletize output; dismantle and erect scaffolding.
• Replace damaged or worn parts of existing structures.

We are currently looking for experienced skilled Construction Trade Workers who can perform tasks in residential, commercial or industrial construction either as an individual or as part of a team. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years + construction experience.

Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to for the role:

• To construct, finish, erect, install, renovate and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, wallboard, glass, iron, steel, aluminum and other materials
• Installing facades, cladding, windows, door, flashing & louvres
• Applying waterproofing products and techniques
• Use of hand tools and power tools
• Cleaning the construction site, removing debris, unused materials and hazardous materials
• Moving equipment and materials
• Following health and safety regulations
• Measure, cut and build elements for residential, commercial and industrial projects
• Maintenance of existing structures and fittings
• Stacking and palletizing output
• Dismantling and erection of scaffolding
• Replace damage or work out part of existing structures

Skills and Attributes for the role:

To be successful in this role it is expected that you will have the following personal attributes:

Demonstrable competence with:

• Proven experience in construction works using wood, plywood, wallboard, glass, iron, steel, aluminum and other materials
• Proven Installation practices with a variety of components.
• Commitment to Health and Safety practices on all building sites.
• Ability to work with dexterity and precision.
• Good understanding of problem-solving techniques.
• Willingness to learn new techniques where required
• Be Physically fit and capable of heavy duties
• Hold a NZ Driver’s license or International Driver’s license
• Candidates must have at least a minimum of 2 years’ experience in construction

What to Expect if You’re Successful:

Your hourly rate will be dependent on your level of experience from $27-30 per hour

You will be offered permanent full-time employment with a minimum of 30 hours per week paid.

You may be required to relocate, as you could be offered work in one of the following locations regions of New Zealand: Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Waikato, Wanganui, Bay of Plenty and Hawkes Bay area.

Training available as appropriate to assist you to improve your skills.

You will be required to follow all advised health and safety regulations. Registration or specific licenses may be required.
