Job summary

CDC Data Centres in New Zealand seeks a Networks Technician to install and maintain network and optical equipment, ensuring high quality service delivery across multiple facilities. You will manage day-to-day fibre patching and support carrier partners to maintain reliable connectivity.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in a data centre or carrier environment, strong networking knowledge, and hands-on fibre experience.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years’ experience in a Data Centre environment or with a commercial carrier.
• Hands‑on fibre cabling experience and strong networking knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fibre optic and network equipment, responding to alarms and alerts.
• Provide expert connectivity advice and support to internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform preventative maintenance and act as a Subject Matter Expert across data centre operations.
• Manage and update network topology, asset records, and configuration data.
