Job summary

Alpha Global Network Limited is seeking experienced Concrete Placers / Concrete Finishing Construction Technicians for opportunities in New Zealand. The role involves hands-on concrete placement, leveling and high-quality finishing, with a focus on achieving accurate RLs/FFLs and tight tolerances.

Successful candidates will work independently and as part of a construction team, using laser levels and finishing tools to deliver consistent, compliant surfaces while meeting NZ immigration

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of verifiable experience in concrete placing and finishing.
• Strong knowledge of laser level setup and use.
• Ability to establish RLs (Finished Levels) and FFLs (Finished Floor Levels) accurately.
• Experience working to tight tolerances (±3 mm).
• Good English communication and ability to work in a construction team.
• Willingness to meet Immigration NZ English-language requirements.

Responsibilities

• Place concrete and achieve high-quality finishes.
• Establish RLs and FFLs and manage accurate height settings.
• Control concrete finishing timing and processes for a smooth surface.
• Operate finishing tools such as bull floats and power trowels.
• Work independently and as part of a construction team to meet schedules.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for skilled concrete professionals with strong, hands‑on experience in concrete placement, levelling and high‑quality finishing work.

Successful candidates should be confident working independently and capable of achieving accurate levels and finishes to tight tolerances.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Candidates should have practical experience in:

• Concrete screeding and raking
• Establishing RLs (Reduced Levels) and FFLs (Finished Floor Levels)
• Accurate height setting and screeding
• Concrete placement and finishing techniques
• Concrete finishing and hand trowelling
• Operating Kelly floats / bull floats
• Operating walk‑behind power trowels
• Understanding correct concrete finishing timing and processes
• Formwork setup and checking procedures
• Achieving accurate and consistent finished surfaces

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 3 years of relevant, verifiable experience in concrete placing and finishing
• Strong practical knowledge of laser level setup and use
• Ability to establish levels and accurately set heights
• Experience working to tight tolerances (±3mm)
• Ability to work independently and achieve high‑quality finishing standards
• Good English communication skills
• Ability to meet applicable Immigration New Zealand English‑language requirements
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety
• Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a construction team

VERIFIABLE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Applicants must be able to verify their previous concrete placing and finishing experience.
