Job summary

Hāpuku Lodge and Treehouses in Kaikōura, Canterbury is seeking a concierge for a full-time fixed-term role (minimum 30 hours per week) starting immediately through April 2027. Based at our luxury property, you will deliver a warm, seamless, and highly personalised guest experience from pre-arrival to departure.

You’ll respond to guest inquiries, manage check-ins/outs, coordinate activities, maintain records, and build strong relationships with local suppliers to ensure memorable experiences

Qualifications

• Respond to guest enquiries promptly and professionally.
• Manage guest check-ins and departures with a personalised touch.
• Coordinate guest activities and logistics to meet Lodge standards.
• Develop strong knowledge of the Lodge, Kaikōura and surrounding region.
• Build relationships with local suppliers for seamless itineraries.

Job description

We are looking for a concierge to join the team at Hāpuku Lodge and Treehouses in Kaikōura, Canterbury. This is a full-time fixed term position (minimum 30 hours/week) starting immediately to April 2027. Based at our beautiful property, where you will take ownership for delivering a warm, seamless and highly personalised guest experience through pre-arrival through to departure. This role acts as a key point of contact for guests, coordinating local services and managing requests, ensuring consistent high-quality service and a memorable guest experience contributing to the unique hospitality offering that defines our luxury lodge.

Your duties will include:

• To respond to all guest enquiries promptly, professionally and with attention to detail, building genuine rapport
• Manage guest check ins and departures efficiently whilst maintaining a personalised experience
• Handle phone and email enquiries in a professional and timely manner
• To take responsibility for coordinating guest activities & logistics to meet both guest needs and Lodge standards
• To develop and maintain strong knowledge of the Lodge, Kaikōura and surrounding regions, staying informed of local events and seasonal offerings to share with guests
• Build strong relationships with local suppliers/operators, ensuring accurate and timely communication on bookings and seamless delivery of guest itineraries’
• Maintain accurate records and update paperwork, including all financial transactions, as required
• To anticipate guest needs proactively, successfully handling complaints calmly, professionally using a solution-based approach
• Maintain professional communication, discretion and integrity at all times
• Communicate clearly and effectively across other departments, building positive, collaborative relationships with our wider Lodge team
• Uphold a clean, organised, and efficient workstation at all times
