Job summary

PAK’nSAVE Napier City is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to lead Health & Safety and Food Safety programmes across the store. You will collaborate with department managers to ensure legislative requirements, company standards, and best practices are consistently met, delivering practical improvements and training where needed.

This fixed-term role offers about 30 hours per week, with flexible days and hours, and runs through to August 2027 to cover parental leave.

Qualifications

• Experience in Health & Safety, Food Safety, Compliance, or related field.
• Understanding of compliance systems and regulatory requirements.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Health & Safety and Food Safety compliance across the store.
• Work closely with department managers to ensure legislative requirements and company standards are met.
• Coordinate audits, training, and improvements to maintain high safety and food safety standards.
• Support internal and external safety and food safety audits and reporting.

About theRole

You will be responsible for leading and coordinating Health& Safety and Food Safety compliance throughout the business. You will workclosely with department managers and team members to ensure legislativerequirements, company standards, and best practices are consistently met.

This role offers approximately 30 hours per week, withflexibility around days and hours for the right candidate. This is a fixed term contract covering parental leave through to August 2027.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety

• Lead and maintain the store’s Health &Safety Management System.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety at WorkAct requirements and company policies.
• Investigate hazards, incidents, injuries andnear misses, implementing effective corrective actions.
• Facilitate Health and Safety meetings andreporting.
• Drive a positive and proactive safety culturethroughout the store.
• Coordinate training and maintain compliancerecords.
• Provide guidance and support to managers andteam members on safe work practices.

Food Safety

• Maintain and oversee the store’s Food SafetyProgramme.
• Conduct regular audits, inspections andcompliance checks.
• Monitor documentation, reporting requirements,and corrective actions.
• Ensure departments consistently meet food safetystandards.
• Coordinate food safety training and awarenessinitiatives.
• Support internal and external food safety audits.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience inHealth & Safety, Food Safety, Compliance, or a related field along with anunderstanding of compliance systems and regulatory requirements.

You will be highly organised with excellent attention todetail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Strong communicationand interpersonal skills are essential. You will be confident coaching andsupporting others, demonstrating sound judgment, problem solving ability, and aproactive approach to achieving positive outcomes.
