Job summary

Hōhepa Canterbury in Christchurch is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist three young adults in developing independence and meaningful daily routines. You will provide person-centered support, including daily living tasks, personal cares, cooking, and medication assistance, while promoting community involvement.

Training is provided; prior experience is not required. A NZ full driver’s licence and ability to work in New Zealand are essential.

Qualifications

• On-the-job training provided; no prior experience required.
• Energetic, empathetic, and able to read situations.
• Good teamwork and boundary setting.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines and encourage independence for each person.
• Assist with personal cares, cooking, medication administration, and household tasks.
• Support broader community access and activities for the individuals.
• Read situations, problem solve, and apply boundaries or give space as needed.
