Job summary

Hawksbury Community Living Trust in Kaiapoi is seeking a committed Permanent Relief Team Support Staff member to help people with learning disabilities live independently in a safe, home-like setting. This full-time role offers variety across days, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

You will support daily routines, provide personal care with dignity, assist with community activities, and help residents maintain independence while following support plans and accurate records.

Qualifications

• NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Level 2 or higher) or experience as a Support Worker/Caregiver/Healthcare Assistant.
• Full New Zealand driver’s licence (essential).
• Available to work weekends and a variety of shifts.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a person-centred approach.

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines including shopping, meal preparation, and household tasks.
• Provide personal care respectfully and safely.
• Support community activities and outings.
• Encourage independence, choice and wellbeing.
• Follow support plans and maintain accurate records.
