Job summary

Radius Care is seeking a Home Support Worker to help clients in Rotorua live independently at home. You will support daily living activities, mobility, meals, and social engagement to enhance wellbeing and safety.

We value compassion, reliable transport, and strong communication. Weekend/evening availability may be required, with Careerforce/NZQA pathways offered for career progression.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of experience as a Support Worker.
• Experience with clients with brain and spinal injury is preferred.
• Health and Wellbeing Level 3 or Level 4 is preferred.
• Certificate in Brain Injury Support, Pressure Injuries and Management of clients with complex medical needs is an advantage.
• Genuinely love working with people who need support.
• Be intuitive and responsive to people's feelings and needs.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• The right to work in New Zealand.
• Full or restricted driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
• Availability to work weekends and evenings if required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide mobility support and safe transfers using mobility aids.
• Assist with light housekeeping, meal planning and preparation.
• Offer companionship and emotional support through conversation and activities.
• Accompany clients to appointments and community activities.
• Administer medications and perform health-related tasks as prescribed.
• Check vital signs, assist with exercises, and monitor for side effects.
