Job summary

Radius Care is seeking a compassionate Home Support Worker to enable clients to live independently at home in the Christchurch region. You will assist with daily living activities, mobility, medication management, and health monitoring in clients' homes.

The role requires patience, excellent communication, and reliability. You will work with a supportive team, access career development, and may be required to work weekends or evenings.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of experience as a Support Worker.
• Experience with clients with brain and spinal injury is preferred.
• Health and Wellbeing Level 3 or Level 4 is preferred.
• Certificate in Brain Injury Support, Pressure Injuries and Management of clients with complex medical needs are an advantage.
• Genuinely love working with people who need support.
• Be intuitive and responsive to people's feelings and needs.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• The right to work in New Zealand.
• Full or restricted driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
• Availability to work weekends and evenings if required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Help clients with safe transfers and mobility, including mobility aids.
• Assist with light housekeeping, meal planning, preparation, and feeding.
• Provide companionship, engagement, and emotional support.
• Accompany clients to appointments, social events, or community activities.
• Administer medications and perform health-related tasks as prescribed.
• Check and document vital signs, support with exercises or rehab routines.
