Job summary

The Wellington seeks a warm, caring Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe and homely environment for residents. You will follow established policies and work with the Environmental Services Manager to support daily living and meaningful activities.

Qualifications

• Some understanding of chemicals and equipment used in cleaning.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to read, write and understand verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work from the heart and make others smile.
• Ability to engage in positive social interactions with residents.
• Show focus on people's feelings when interacting and turning tasks into positive social interactions.
• Meet all legal requirements and promote residents' rights.
• Provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check or willingness to obtain one.
• TB testing results or chest X-ray within required timeframe.
• Two supervisory references and vaccine proof as requested.

Responsibilities

• Receives assignment, prepares materials and transports to the work area.
• Performs cleaning tasks: vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing floors, dusting, and cleaning fixtures.
• Ensures resident privacy and promotes a warm, homely setting.
• Prepares rooms for new occupants following procedures.
• Notifies Manager when supplies are low or equipment malfunctions.
• Returns unused supplies and stores equipment properly.
• Identifies liability risks and helps minimize them.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
