Job summary

Access Community Health | Uru Ātea is seeking skilled Support Workers to provide in-home care across our community in New Zealand. You will deliver safe, respectful, and person-centred support, assisting with daily living and medical needs while honoring clients’ culture, routines, and boundaries.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification or have equivalent, relevant experience
• Spinal injury experience
• Stoma management experience
• Experience administering prescribed medication
• Love working with people and helping them thrive
• Be willing to learn, reflect, and adapt your approach to what matters for each person
• Have experience in caregiving, disability support, aged care, community work, or other people-facing roles
• Committed to culturally safe, respectful support for people from all backgrounds
• Own a smartphone
• Have the right to work in New Zealand
• Full/restricted driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, respectful, and person-centred support in people’s homes, mindful of culture, values, beliefs, routines and boundaries
• Assist with daily living activities, including palliative care, bowel care, dementia, and mental health support
• Support clients with medication administration and administration adherence as required
• Collaborate with care teams to adapt support plans to individual client needs
