Job summary

Access Community Health in New Zealand is seeking Support Workers to provide safe, person-centered care in clients' homes. You will support daily living activities, respect culture and routines, and adapt to each person’s needs, with potential overnight shifts.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 3 or 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification or have equivalent, relevant experience.
• Spinal injury experience.
• Stoma Management experience.
• Experienced in the use of a full, standing and two-person hoist.
• Experience administering prescribed medication.
• Love working with people and helping them thrive.
• Be willing to learn, reflect, and adapt your approach to what matters for each person.
• Have experience in caregiving, disability support, aged care, community work, or other people-facing roles.
• Committed to culturally safe, respectful support for people from all backgrounds.
• Intuitive and responsive to people’s needs.
• Own a smartphone.
• Have the right to work in New Zealand.
• Full/restricted driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, respectful, and person-centred support in people’s homes, mindful of culture and routines.
• Support Tāngata with daily living activities and high-risk care requirements.
• Overnight shifts may be required.
• Engage in training and development pathways to build capability.
