Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a Health Care Assistant in the General Medicine Ward 6 East at Wellington Regional Hospital. You will assist patients with daily activities, support nursing staff, and help maintain a clean, safe environment under RN supervision.

Applicants should be compassionate, proactive, and able to communicate well while upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles. NZQA Level 3 in Health and Wellbeing (or equivalent) is required.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, proactive and reliable patient support.
• Experience applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice.
• Ability to maintain clean, organized clinical environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with activities of daily living.
• Restock clinical supplies and keep patient areas clean.
• Observe and engage with patients for safety and comfort.
• Communicate effectively with patients and the care team.
