Job summary

Spectrum Foundation – Waitakere, North Island, is seeking a Community Support Worker to help people with intellectual disabilities discover and pursue their dreams. You will support them to make friends, have fun, and connect with local communities while developing life and work skills for meaningful occupation.

You should be energetic, empathetic, and patient, with excellent English, and a full NZ driver’s licence.

Qualifications

• Empathy and interpersonal warmth essential for interacting with diverse individuals.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with participants and teams.
• Must hold a full NZ driver’s licence.
• Ability to assess situations quickly and respond appropriately.

• Assist individuals to explore life, work, education, and community opportunities.
• Support participation in social and employment experiences, including open employment or social enterprises.
