Job summary

Whakatāne District Council in Whakatāne, New Zealand, is seeking a Community Programmes Lead to develop and deliver innovative library programmes, events and community engagement initiatives, with a strong focus on children, young people and families.

Working across the library and community, you'll build relationships with schools, iwi, community organisations and whānau, champion collections and services, and create welcoming, engaging experiences that foster learning, wellbeing and connection.

Qualifications

• Experience planning, coordinating or delivering programmes, events or community initiatives.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience using feedback and data to improve programmes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver innovative library programmes, events and community engagement initiatives for children, young people and families.
• Build strong relationships with schools, early learning providers, iwi, community organisations and whānau.
• Champion library resources and services to ensure inclusive, engaging experiences across the district.
• Collaborate with colleagues and volunteers to provide meaningful learning experiences that strengthen community connections.
