Job summary

Whakatane District Council is seeking a proactive Community Programmes Lead to develop and deliver innovative library programmes and community engagement initiatives focused on children, young people and families. You will build relationships with schools, early learning providers, iwi and community organisations to foster literacy, wellbeing and connection across the district.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver innovative library programmes, events and community engagement initiatives for children, youth and families.
• Forge and maintain strong relationships with schools, early learning providers, iwi, community organisations and other stakeholders.
• Champion library collections, resources and services to increase access and community benefit.
• Deliver programmes across the library and community, ensuring inclusivity and local responsiveness.
• Lead engaging activities, present to groups and create welcoming experiences for participants of all ages.
