AFL New Zealand is seeking a motivated Participation Coordinator in Wellington to support development programs across AFL KiwiKick, community programmes, school football and alternate formats. This full-time entry-level role focuses on attracting, delivering, transitioning and retaining participants in the Wellington region.

You will work with schools, coordinators, clubs and volunteers to grow participation, manage bookings, and help train casual staff.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering development programmes in the sports industry.
  • Strong administration skills and ability to hit targets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support booking and delivering school programmes with the aim to increase participation across key segments; AFL KiwiKick, Community Football, School Football and Alternate Formats.
  • Manage key relationships with AFL KiwiKick Coordinators, Schools, Community Groups, Community Leagues and Clubs.
  • Coordinate and deliver the AFL KiwiKick programme with a focus on quality and growth.
  • Liaise with teachers, schools and other programme stakeholders to increase the number of School Ambassadors.
  • Perform duties for community programmes, school football and alternative formats including match management and umpiring.
  • Support ongoing training and education for casual staff to deliver AFL Programmes.
  • Contribute to key projects within and outside of core role.
  • Support and contribute to the success of the broader team.

About The Role

The position is a full‑time entry‑level role based in Wellington, supporting AFL New Zealand’s development efforts in the Wellington region. A Day In The Life Of
