Job summary

Ministry of Social Development NZ – Tauranga is seeking a Case Manager to help New Zealanders access income, housing and employment support. You will work with whānau to connect to the right services, balancing empathy and policy while managing complex cases with integrity.

You will join a public service team focused on manaaki tangata, manaaki whānau, delivering integrated support and building safer, stronger communities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with diverse communities in frontline public service.
• Ability to assess needs and connect clients to appropriate support.
• Comfort using multiple data systems and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Support clients navigating income, housing and employment needs.
• Assist with housing options and follow-ups for whānau.
• Encourage digital self-service and build client confidence with online tools.
• Manage a busy caseload across multiple systems with accurate notes.
• Refer clients to external providers and collaborate with partners.
• Meet with team to reflect, troubleshoot, and support each other.
