Job summary

PowerNet is seeking a Communications Advisor based in Invercargill (or nearby Southland/Otago) to create engaging content for digital and traditional channels. You’ll support internal communications, employee engagement and safety initiatives while shaping plans for projects and campaigns.

You'll work with teams across the business, build relationships, and tailor messages for different audiences. A tertiary qualification in Communications or related field is preferred, with strong writing,

Qualifications

• Strong writing skills and creative approach to developing content.
• The ability to tailor content and choose suitable channels for different audiences.
• Experience developing or contributing to communication plans.
• Confidence using Microsoft 365 and digital communication channels.
• Sound judgement, initiative and attention to detail.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to learn and grow.
• A tertiary qualification in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Creating engaging written and visual content across digital and traditional channels
• Supporting internal communications, employee engagement and safety initiatives
• Developing communication and engagement plans for projects and campaigns
• Helping manage and improve our websites, social media, newsletters, and other channels
• Supporting stakeholder, community and media communications
• Contributing to emergency communications and response activities when required
