Job summary

Bloom’s Pretzels in Mt Roskill, Auckland, is hiring a Commercial Bakery Assistant for a focused four-hour shift from 7:30am–11:30am, Monday to Friday. You’ll be hands-on in our pretzel production, rolling dough, weighing ingredients and helping with batches for wholesale, retail and markets.

No prior bakery experience is required as full training is provided; we’re looking for someone reliable, eager to learn and comfortable working on their feet in a small team.

We’re looking for a Commercial Bakery Assistant to join our team at our Mt Roskill bakery, working a focused four‑hour shift from 7:30am–11:30am, Monday to Friday.

You’ll be right in the middle of our pretzel production – rolling dough, hand‑twisting pretzels, weighing ingredients, preparing batches and helping with general bakery production for our wholesale, retail and market customers.
It’s practical, physical work in a commercial bakery. You’ll be on your feet throughout the shift, working with flour and dough, lifting bags of ingredients and working alongside the team to keep production moving.

Previous bakery experience isn’t essential – full training is provided. We’re much more interested in finding someone who is reliable, willing to learn, comfortable with hands‑on work and keen to become part of our small team.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:

Reliable and able to commit to Mon‑Fri

Available for initial training shifts

Keen to learn and comfortable taking direction

Happy with repetitive, hands‑on work and comfortable being on their feet for the full shift

Physically able to lift and handle flour bags and ingredients

Careful and accurate when following weights, recipes and processes

Comfortable working as part of a small, busy team

Someone who takes pride in doing a job properly and pitching in where needed

(Bakery, kitchen or food production experience is a bonus, but definitely not a requirement.)
