Job summary

PAK'nSAVE Hornby is seeking a Bakery Assistant / Packer / Cleaner to join a busy bakery team. Expect early starts and a 45-hour week, Tuesday to Saturday 3:30am–1:00pm, with scope to cover other shifts. You will assist our Bakers with product preparation, bread production, cleaning and stocking the department.

Full training will be given, including a six-week induction. We value reliability, initiative and a cheery, can-do attitude. This role is a great stepping stone for a future in baking.

There's nothing like smelling a fresh batch of croissants first thing in the morning!! Our Bakers start super early to get the job done - they are looking for someone with a passion for the industry, an early morning riser, and someone potentially looking for a future in the industry to help them do that for our customers.

Early starts BUT early finishes - and for someone looking to go further in this area, support and training will in abundance. We have a Bakery Management team who are super passionate about their chosen field, who love 'keen to learn' people and will guide you as far as you want to go.

Days and hours will be: Tuesday to Saturday 3.30am to 1.00pm - 45 hours per week with the expectation that you will be available to cover other shifts within the department when necessary. There's plenty to do and plenty to learn so you won't be bored!

The duties in this role with involve assisting our Bakers to do the product preparation jobs; bread production operation side mainly, cleaning, lifting or bringing stock 5-20kg weight with trolley, product packing and assisting with department clean down.

The ability to learn Baking tasks working alongside our Qualified Bakers is there for someone considering making a career in the Baking industry. Full support will be given to the right candidates looking for that opportunity. We love ambitious people. This position is quite literally the right hand person for our Bakers so the ability to take on instructions and information retention is key to getting the job across the line for each day's trade.

Reliability is an absolute must. This is a passionate and very busy team so consistency is key to ensure the days tasks are completed on time to meet our customers' needs.

Full training will be given along with a comprehensive six week induction to our store, your department and the tasks required. You'll be a Rockstar by the end of it. We aim to set you up to succeed, if not excel!
