Archway Recruitment is seeking a Commercial Analyst in Auckland to translate financial and operational data into actionable insights. You will support budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting while working with operational stakeholders to identify trends and opportunities.

You will help strengthen financial understanding across the business and partner with leaders to improve decision-making and accountability, contributing to a high-growth environment.

Formación

• CA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• 3+ years of post-qualification experience.
• Big 4 background is valued.
• Experience in a complex or multi-entity organisation.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, modelling and analytical capability.
• Experience communicating financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
• Confidence presenting financial insights to management.
• Strong Excel and Office 365 capability.
• Experience using and building reports within Power BI.
• Exposure to financial planning and ERP systems (Tier 1 or 2 valuable).
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Proactive, organized with good attention to detail.
• Interest in continuing to develop within commercially focused finance.

Our client is a well established New Zealand services organisation operating across a complex, multi-entity environment. As the business navigates a period of growth, there is an increasing focus on using financial and operational insight to support better decision-making and performance.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, the Commercial Analyst will work closely with operational stakeholders to translate financial and operational data into meaningful insights.

This is a broad role spanning budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting and commercial analysis. You will help leaders understand what is happening behind the numbers, identify trends and opportunities, and provide practical insight that supports better decision-making.

As the organisation continues to grow, the role will also be important in strengthening financial understanding and commercial capability across the wider business.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting budgeting and forecasting, including coordinating operational inputs and validating key assumptions
• Preparing monthly performance reporting, variance analysis and operational KPI reporting
• Identifying emerging risks, trends and opportunities within operational performance
• Undertaking scenario modelling and financial analysis to support business decisions and resource planning
• Partnering with operational leaders to improve financial understanding and accountability
• Translating financial information into clear, practical insights for non-finance stakeholders
• Helping teams understand cost structures, performance drivers and the financial impact of operational decisions
• Supporting the development of operational KPIs and driver-based forecasting models
• Contributing to improvements across reporting tools, dashboards and management information
• Supporting improvements in data quality, reporting processes and analytical methods
• Providing support around financial planning systems and wider process improvements

Role Requirements

We are looking for someone who combines strong finance and analytical capability with genuine commercial curiosity.

You'll be proactive, motivated and comfortable building relationships across different areas of a business. This would suit someone who enjoys getting behind the numbers, asking questions and using their analysis to help others make better decisions.

Ideally, you will bring:

• A CA or equivalent professional accounting qualification
• 3+ years of post-qualification experience
• Big 4 background is valued
• Experience working within a complex or multi-entity organisation
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, modelling and analytical capability
• Experience communicating financial information to non-finance stakeholders
• Confidence presenting financial insights to management
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office 365 capability
• Experience using and building reports within Power BI
