Job description

Location: Auckland - CBD - Shortland Street

Job Category: Accounting

Job Description

At Pacific Health Group, we're passionate about helping New Zealanders live healthier, happier lives. As one of New Zealand's leading integrated healthcare providers, we're growing rapidly and investing in the systems, people, and capability that will support our future success.

This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible Finance Business Partner role where you'll influence decision-making at all levels of the business. Working across a diverse portfolio of healthcare services, you'll partner with operational leaders, challenge thinking, uncover opportunities, and help drive commercial performance across the Group.

You'll join a collaborative, values-led organisation where your insights will directly contribute to both commercial outcomes and meaningful community impact.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, you'll be a trusted advisor to leaders across the business, helping them make informed decisions and achieve strong operational and financial outcomes. This is much more than reporting numbers. You'll play a key role in shaping strategy, improving performance, and embedding commercial thinking throughout the organisation.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Partnering with operational stakeholders to lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Delivering meaningful performance insights, reporting, and variance analysis that drive action
  • Identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and providing commercially focused recommendations
  • Supporting business cases, investment decisions, and scenario modelling
  • Influencing decision-making through strong stakeholder engagement and financial storytelling
  • Building financial capability and accountability across operational teams
  • Contributing to reporting enhancements, dashboards, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives
About You

You're a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working alongside people as much as working with numbers. You know how to build credibility, ask the right questions, and confidently challenge stakeholders to achieve better outcomes. You'll thrive in an environment where no two days are the same and where your ability to influence, collaborate, and think strategically is just as important as your technical expertise.

  • 3-5+ years' experience in a Finance Business Partnering or commercial finance role post-qualification (CA or CPA)
  • Strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to translate financial insights into business decisions
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and operational stakeholders across a complex organisation
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills
  • Exposure to multi-entity or geographically dispersed businesses
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial planning and reporting systems (e.g. Sage Intacct, Workday Adaptive Planning, or similar)
  • Experience developing or working with Power BI reporting
  • Healthcare industry experience is advantageous, but not essential
What's in it for you?
  • Make a genuine impact in an organisation that improves the lives of thousands of New Zealanders
  • Work closely with senior leaders and influence business performance across a diverse healthcare group
  • Ongoing professional development support, including a professional development budget and paid study leave
  • Volunteer leave to support a charitable cause important to you
  • Wellbeing benefits including annual eye examinations, flu vaccinations, discounted eyewear, and EAP services
  • Corporate discounts across a wide range of products and services
  • A supportive team culture with regular social events, recognition programmes, and plenty of opportunities to connect

If you’re looking for a role where you can combine commercial rigour with meaningful impact, we’d love to hear from you.

If you have any additional questions, please contact Madison at recruitment@phg.co.nz, quoting job ID 2629.

Please note that this role is open to candidates who hold a valid NZ work permit and are currently residing in the country.
