High Duty Plastics in Rotorua, North Island, is seeking an experienced full-time CNC Router operator to join a well-established team. The role involves preparing and operating flatbed CNC routers, interpreting technical drawings, programming machines, loading materials, inspecting finished parts, and maintaining equipment to meet production timelines.

Ideal candidates will have CNC Router experience, the ability to read technical documents, and accuracy under pressure.

Qualifications

  • Experience in CNC Routers and/or CNC machines.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Proficiency with measuring tools (calipers, tape, ruler).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and operate flatbed CNC router machines.
  • Interpret specifications from drawings and instructions to achieve required results.
  • Program machines using job specifications.
  • Load raw materials and parts onto machines.
  • Inspect and measure finished parts against job requirements.
  • Maintain machinery daily and follow safety guidelines.

High Duty Plastics - CNC Router Operator

High Duty Plastics is a long-established, family-owned manufacturing business specialising in quality CNC machining and the supply of finished machined components across a wide range of materials and industries.

We operate from a modern, purpose-built workshop and pride ourselves on having a friendly, down-to-earth team and a workplace where people can learn, develop, and enjoy coming to work.

Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for an experienced full time CNC Router operator to join our well-established team.

The role itself involves:

Prepare and operate flatbed CNC router machines.

Understand specifications of the task at hand and achieve the desired result by interpreting technical drawings and instructions.

Program the machines using various forms of software, usually depending on the job specifications.

Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.

Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with the job requirements

Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality

Comply with all safety guidelines

The Ideal Candidate will:

Be able to follow tried-and-true practices and processes to meet production timelines.

Be timely and punctual.

Have a great attitude to work and ability to learn

Be motivated by working autonomously to complete tasks in a timely manner.

Possess strong communication skills written and verbally

Have the skills to manage their workload well under pressure

Desired skills, experience and ability:

Experience in CNC Routers and or CNC Machines.

Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.

Can use measuring equipment such as Digital calipers, tape measure, ruler.

Willingness to learn (some on job training will be provided to get up to speed)

Fusion 360 or WoodWOP experience (an advantage but not critical)

Forklift or Crane Certificate would be an advantage

Physically fit

A pre-employment drug test will be required

Hourly rate negotiable dependant on experience.

Hours could be negotiable as we operate various start/finish times.

Formal qualifications are not a pre-requisite but previous experience and a willingness to work is.
