Job summary

Expac Engineering Ltd in Auckland, North Island, is seeking a reliable CNC Machinist to join our growing team. You will operate CNC milling and lathe machines, set up tooling, read engineering drawings, and assist with programming as needed.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years’ experience, can work independently or in a team, and is committed to quality and safety in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience operating CNC milling and/or CNC lathe machines.
• Good understanding of machining processes.
• Reliable and positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC milling and CNC lathe machines safely and efficiently.
• Set up machines and tooling for production jobs.
• Read and understand engineering drawings and measurements.
• Use measuring equipment such as verniers and micrometers.
• Assist with CNC programming and machine setup where required.
• Produce components to required dimensions and specifications.
• Assist with reverse-engineering and reproduction of parts.
• Maintain machines and report issues promptly.
• Follow company health and safety procedures.
• Assist other team members with general engineering tasks.

Expac Engineering Ltd is a growing engineering and precision machining company specialising in CNC machining, component manufacturing, reverse engineering and the manufacture of replacement and obsolete machine parts. We are looking for a reliable, motivated and hands‑on CNC Machinist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC milling and CNC lathe machines safely and efficiently.
• Set up machines and tooling for production jobs.
• Read and understand engineering drawings and measurements.
• Use measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers and other inspection tools.
• Assist with CNC programming and machine setup where required.
• Produce components to the required dimensions and specifications.
• Assist with reverse‑engineering and reproduction of machine parts.
• Maintain machines in good working condition and report any issues promptly.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures.
• Assist other team members with general engineering and workshop duties when required.

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least 2-3 years of experience in operating CNC milling and/or CNC lathe machines
• Good understanding of machining processes.
• A reliable and positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Advantageous but Not Essential

• Experience with:
• Fusion 360 or other CAM software.
• CNC programming.
• Manual milling or turning.
