G & A Harris Sheetmetal Engineers in Christchurch is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Operator to join our growing team. You will work with our Amada CNC turret punch and other fabrication equipment to produce precise sheet metal components.
The role involves programming, nesting, setting and operating CNC machines, reading drawings, improving material use and production efficiency, and solving problems on the shop floor.
Want to work with some seriously capable sheet metal machinery?
is continuing to invest heavily in new plant and equipment, and we're looking for an experienced CNC Programmer / Operator to join our growing Christchurch team.
We have a new-generation Amada CNC turret punch arriving shortly alongside our Long Thalmann and RAS CNC folding machinery, Forstner coil processing equipment and large-format CNC guillotines.
This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who enjoys programming, problem solving and getting the best out of good machinery.
Ideally, you'll have:
Amada or Long folder experience would be a big advantage, but isn't essential.
Experience with CAD/CAM, CNC folding, laser cutting, fabrication or MIG/TIG welding would also be valuable.
We don't expect you to know every machine we operate — we'll train the right person on our specialist equipment.
We offer genuine flexibility around how you structure your week.
Current options include:
7:00am–4:00pm Monday to Friday
or
7:00am–5:00pm Monday to Thursday + 7:00am–12:00pm Friday
That second option means a 2.5-day weekend, every week.
If you're an experienced sheet metal person looking for better machinery, interesting work, flexibility and the opportunity to be part of a growing operation, we'd like to hear from you.
All applications will be treated confidentially.
