Full time permanent role based in East Tamaki

See What Your Work Becomes

Technopak prides itself on staying one step ahead in the innovation, design and manufacture of high-hygiene packaging machinery for the global dairy industry. Based in East Tamaki, we have an international footprint, with most of our machinery exported to the USA, Europe, Asia and Australia, as well as supplied throughout New Zealand.

We manage every stage of a project on site, from concept development and mechanical design through to electrical systems, manufacturing, installation and commissioning. That means you won't simply machine parts without seeing where they go. You'll work alongside the teams building the machinery and see your components become part of the finished product.

We're looking for a CNC Operator/Setter to join our growing team. This isn't your everyday CNC role.

Working in our small, dedicated machine shop alongside our Senior CNC Machinist, you'll undertake varied, short-run work across our 2-axis lathe, Y-axis mill-turn and 3/4-axis mill.

You'll programme, set and operate machinery to produce accurate, high-quality components while interacting with our procurement, manufacturing and engineering design teams. You'll also provide practical input into designs, machining requirements and production schedules.

What you'll bring

This role would suit someone with at least two years' CNC machining experience who is ready to take the next step and continue developing their skills.

Ideally, you'll bring:
  • Strong CNC programming and machine-setting capability
  • Experience with GibbsCAM, ISO and Mazatrol software
  • Confidence interpreting engineering drawings and 3D models
  • The ability to clearly mark up required drawing changes
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • A safe and practical approach to manufacturing
  • Natural problem-solving ability
  • A positive attitude and genuine desire to learn

You'll be joining a close-knit team of people who enjoy solving problems, sharing ideas and finding better ways to get the job done. The environment is varied and fast-paced, and completed projects are something the team takes pride in, and often celebrates with a BBQ.

This is a full-time, Monday-to-Friday position based in East Tamaki. You must have New Zealand residency or a valid work visa and excellent English communication skills.
