The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' CNC machining experience and the ability to interpret technical drawings. McCannics is a well-established Gisborne-based company providing construction, manufacturing, maintenance, and repair services across the agricultural and timber industries. With over 60 skilled employees and state-of-the-art facilities, we’re now looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join our growing engineering department.

About the Role

You’ll be working on a wide variety of projects, with guaranteed full-time hours and access to modern equipment. We’re looking for someone with a minimum of 3 years’ CNC machining experience who can work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Set up and operate CNC machines
• Assemble metal parts and subassemblies to precise tolerances
• Use precision measuring instruments to check work
• Cut, thread, bend, and install hydraulic and pneumatic lines
• Diagnose faults and perform mechanical repairs and maintenance
• Assist with customer enquiries and ensure a high standard of workmanship
• Communicate effectively with team members and management

What You’ll Bring
