Job summary

Synechron in New Zealand seeks a senior DevOps/SRE engineer to join global delivery teams. You will own cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, Ansible playbooks, and IaC, while applying strong Linux fundamentals and scripting to keep systems reliable and scalable.

You will work with Azure or AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes, using observability tools and collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile setting to deliver robust production environments.

Qualifications

• Hands-on DevOps/SRE experience in production environments.
• Strong experience with GitHub, Git, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD pipeline automation.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible for configuration management, automation, and deployment orchestration.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform: Microsoft Azure or AWS.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems, networking, DNS, load balancing, and security.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Knowledge of containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability tools.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in production environments.
• Understanding of cloud security, IAM, and secrets management.
• Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Significant hands-on experience in DevOps engineering, SRE, or cloud infrastructure engineering.
• Strong experience with GitHub, Git, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD pipeline automation.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible for configuration management and deployment orchestration.
• Experience with Azure or AWS as primary cloud platforms.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code and provisioning.
• Maintain Linux/Unix systems, networking, DNS, and security.
• Scripting with Python, Bash or PowerShell.
• Work with Docker and Kubernetes in production.
• Implement monitoring and observability tools and processes.
• Troubleshoot production issues and support reliability improvements.
• Apply cloud security best practices and IAM management.
• Collaborate in Agile environments with cross-functional teams.
