Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Clinical Pharmacist for a reputable hospital group in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will provide expert pharmaceutical care and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support medication therapy management across clinical settings.

The role emphasizes drug information, safety interventions, rounds participation, and education for patients and staff. A BPharm or PharmD with SAPC registration and hospital pharmacy experience is required;

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy with SAPC registration.
• Minimum 2–3 years of clinical hospital pharmacy experience.
• Strong pharmacotherapy knowledge and medication safety principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care and medication therapy management.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to optimize regimens.
• Dispense medications accurately and safely per protocols.
• Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and patients.
• Monitor therapy and adjust as needed.
• Develop and implement clinical pharmacy services and protocols.
• Contribute to medication safety initiatives and ADR reporting.
• Educate patients and caregivers on medication use and adherence.
• Mentor students, residents, and junior pharmacists.
• Stay current with advances in clinical pharmacy.
