Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Nelson Marlborough is seeking a qualified pharmacist for a casual hospital pharmacy position at Nelson Hospital. The role focuses on delivering safe medication management for inpatients and outpatients.

Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with on-call duties from 4:30 pm to 8:00 am on weekdays or Friday evening to Monday morning. You will provide clinical services, ensure safety, and assist with stock management.

Qualifications

• Hold registration with the New Zealand Pharmacy Council and Annual Practising Certificate or be eligible.
• Relevant experience in hospital pharmacy, ideally with a focus on clinical pharmacy.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to medication safety.

About the Role

As part of the Nelson Marlborough hospital pharmacy service, you willplay a key role in ensuring safe and effective medication management forhospital inpatients and outpatients.

The casual position will be worked as required by the service.

Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm.

On-call duties will be undertaken as required and will generally cover Monday to Friday from 4:30 pm to 8:00 am the following morning, or from Friday evening through to Monday morning.

The Nelson Hospital Pharmacy Team is a dedicated group of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and interns who provide safe and effective medication management across hospital wards, outpatient services, and community healthcare. The team functions in a multidisciplinary setting, working closely with medical, nursing, and allied health teams to ensure optimal medication use and patient outcomes. About you
