Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in New Zealand's Taranaki region is seeking an enthusiastic pharmacist to join the Emergency Department. The role includes clinical pharmacy services, medication reconciliation, patient education, and expanding services across seven days, including evenings and weekends.

Essential: NZ APC or willingness to obtain one, 2+ years as a registered pharmacist, strong communication, and a focus on patient safety. Hospital ED/ICU experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid NZ APC or be willing to obtain one.
• At least 2 years registered pharmacist experience.
• Experience in clinical pharmacy and ED/ICU settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services in the ED.
• Conduct medication reconciliation and patient education.
• Support transfer of care to ICU and bedside optimization of medicines.
• Engage in service development and advocacy within a multidisciplinary team.
