Job summary

Summerset in the Bay is seeking a Clinical Nurse Lead to provide clinical guidance, day-to-day leadership, and support to our Care Centre team, reporting to the Care Centre Manager.

You will lead safe operation of the care team, contribute to the quality management programme, and coordinate with residents, advocates, pharmacists and allied health professionals to deliver personalised care.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with NZNC practising certificate and PDRP level 2–4.
• InterRAI trained and competent with Syringe Driver competency.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills with a collaborative leadership style.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical guidance and day-to-day leadership to the Care Centre team.
• Support safe operation of the care team in collaboration with the Care Centre Manager.
• Be actively involved with the Summerset quality management programme.
• Consult with residents and advocates to establish shared expectations of care and service delivery.
• Act as clinical liaison with health care team members (pharmacists, podiatrists, physiotherapist, dietitian, specialists).

Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate leader to join our care team as a Clinical Nurse Lead at Summerset in the Bay. Reporting to the Care Centre Manager, this role will help to provide leadership, support and clinical guidance to our incredible Care Centre team.

Role responsibilities:

• Assist in providing clinical guidance, day to day direction, and leadership to the Care Centre team.
• Working closely with Care Centre Manager to help support safe operation of the care team.
• Active involvement with the Summerset quality management programme.
• Consult with residents and their advocates to establish shared expectations of care and service delivery
• Acting as a clinical liaison for health care team members with a key focus on the primary care team, pharmacists, podiatrists, physiotherapist, dietitian, and specialist services that are required for individual residents.

This is a full time role working Monday - Friday from 7am - 3:30pm.

Qualifications:

You’ll bring experience in a clinical environment with a deep understanding of the aged care sector and Te Whatu Ora standards. You’ll be an experienced Clinical Nurse Lead with solid aged care experience in New Zealand and also:

• A Registered Nurse with a current NZNC practising certificate and your PDRP achieved to level 2-4
• A high degree of clinical expertise ideally in the aged care sector
• Computer literacy including clinical care systems
• A team player with a strong commitment to be a positive influence, coach and mentor
• A skilled communicator with a proven ability to build positive relationships
• InterRAI trained with Syringe Driver competency
