Job summary

Bupa Care Services NZ Limited in Christchurch is hiring a dedicated Cleaner to join the Housekeeping team and ensure a high standard of cleanliness across resident areas.

You will work a permanent part-time schedule (approx. 25.7 hours per week) with rotating shifts including weekends, 7:30am to 1:30pm. No previous healthcare cleaning is required, but reliability and empathy for residents are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience in a similar environment is preferable.
• Be a proactive team player who can work independently and pitch in where needed.
• Empathetic, enthusiastic and passionate about making a positive difference for residents.
• Available to work rotating rostered shifts, including weekends.
• Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high standard of cleaning as set out on the cleaning schedule.
• Managing cleaning supplies.
• Meeting daily schedule to ensure residents’ rooms and public areas are in perfect order, reporting faults to the Household supervisor.
• Adhere to Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe chemical use and storage.
• Treat residents with respect and dignity.

• Hours: Average25.7 hours/week/154 hours/6 weeks roster period
• Shift Time: 7.30am-1.30pm
• Roster Pattern: 4 days on, 2 days off (6-weekly rotating roster across Monday - Sunday)

Bupa Parklands Care Home is located on Papanui Road in Strowan, Christchurch, close to the communities of Papanui, Merivale, and St Albans. The home offers rest home, hospital, and specialist dementia (psychogeriatric) care.

As a Cleaner you will be part of the Housekeeping team to:

• Maintain a high standard of cleaning as set out on the cleaning schedule.
• Managing cleaning supplies.
