Job summary

Avis Budget Group in Christchurch is seeking a part-time Cleaner / Car Detailer to maintain our fleet in top condition. You will clean interiors and exteriors, inspect for damages, and input vehicle data with training provided.

The 20-hour per week role runs as a fixed term until May 2027, with shifts across 7 days. A valid class 1 driver’s licence is essential, and a positive, reliable attitude is required.

Qualifications

• Full, clean, valid class 1 driver's licence required.
• Previous hands-on or physical labour experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver quality results.
• Ability to follow procedures and company guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Clean interior and exterior of vehicles, wash, vacuum, and prepare returned cars.
• Check for damages and report as per procedures.
• Record gas levels and odometer readings using handheld devices.
• Refuel, check fluids, tyres, and tread depth as needed.

About the Role

As what we call a 'Vehicle Service Agent', you will be a key component to our operations and will be responsible for checking and preparing our vehicles to ensure they are in the best condition possible for our customers.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing the interior and exterior of our vehicles by cleaning, washing, and vacuuming all returned vehicles
• Assessing vehicle for any potential new damages and report it as per our vehicle damage procedure.
• Reviewing returned vehicle gas levels and car kilometres and accurately inputting them into our hand-held devices as required
• Refuelling gas tanks, checking fluid levels and tyre conditions along with pressure and tread depth.

What we are looking for:

• Full , clean, valid class 1 driver’s licence is essential for this role.
• Previous experience in a hands-on or physical labouring role
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in all weather conditions delivering a high standard of work.
• Ability to follow procedures and adhere to company guidelines and standards.

We operate 7 days a week, Monday - Sunday from 0730 - 1800 each day. For this part-time 20-hour per week role we would look to schedule you on a roster during our operating hours which could include weekends and public holidays as required.
