Job summary

Lepperton School is seeking an experienced classroom teacher for a permanent, full-time Scale A position beginning Term 1, 2027. The role will be negotiated to reflect experience and strengths in literacy, with a strong emphasis on explicit reading and writing instruction.

Qualifications

• Strong curriculum and pedagogical knowledge, particularly in reading and writing.
• Experience with Structured Literacy and understanding the Science of Learning.
• Knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum; culturally responsive practice including te reo Māori and mātauranga Māori.

Responsibilities

• Teach reading and writing with explicit instruction and evidence-based strategies.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan for diverse learners and reflect on practice.
• Engage in ongoing professional learning and contribute to school culture.
