Hilton Haulage is seeking an experienced Class 5 Driver based in Dunedin to cart steel for Steel & Tube between Dunedin and Invercargill. The role offers guaranteed hours, a stable dayshift, and a supportive team environment.

Applicants should have a Class 5 licence with at least 2 years of experience and a focus on safety. Training may be provided for career development within the company.

Qualifications

• Class 5 Licence and minimum 2 years driving experience.
• F, DG endorsement preferred but not essential.
• High safety standards and reliability are required.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Class 5 vehicle, primarily Dunedin–Invercargill steel deliveries.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness and vehicle condition to meet company standards.
• Rostered dayshift with rare weekend work and 80 hours per fortnight minimum.

What the role looks like:

We’re looking for an experienced Class 5 Driver to join our highly skilled and dynamic South Island General Transport team, operating a top-notch fleet,based in Dunedin. As this particular role will be predominantly responsible for carting steel for Steel & Tube between Dunedin and Invercargill, prior general freight and experience handling steel would be an advantage, however training could also be given for those willing to develop their driving career further.

Your attention to safety, maintenance, and vehicle operation will reflect the high standards our loyal customers and suppliers expect.

Work Pattern:

Full-time, permanent role with a regular roster:

• Dayshift


• Predominantly Monday – Friday (+ occasional weekend work as and when required due to business / customer / seasonal demands)


• Average shift: 10–12 hours (guaranteed minimum of 80hrs per fortnight regardless of actual hours worked)

What you bring to the table:

• Class 5 Licence (or equivalent) with at least 2 years of experience


• F, DG endorsement (preferred, but not essential)


• A reliable and committed approach
